1. Who we are

Wildfolio ("we", "us", "our") operates the Wildfolio digital field guide. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

2. Data we collect

Account data — name, email address, and login credentials.
Subscription data — plan, status, and renewal dates (no card details — these are handled by Paddle).
Usage data — pages and parks viewed, itinerary items saved, feature interactions.
Support messages — anything you send us via email or in-app support.
Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, timestamps, and basic diagnostic information.

3. Why we use it

To create and maintain your account (contract performance).
To deliver the Wildfolio service and save your itineraries (contract).
To process subscriptions and prevent fraud (contract & legitimate interests).
To improve features and fix bugs (legitimate interests).
To provide customer support (contract).
To send service-related emails (contract & legitimate interests).
To meet legal obligations such as tax record-keeping (legal obligation).

4. Who we share data with

Paddle — our Merchant of Record for sales, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
Hosting & infrastructure providers — to run the Service securely.
Email & support tooling — to send transactional emails and respond to support requests.
Analytics providers — to understand how the Service is used in aggregate.
Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where reasonably necessary.
Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside your country of residence. Where data leaves the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account is active. After deletion or extended inactivity, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period unless we are legally required to keep it (e.g. tax records, typically 6–7 years).

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We respond to verified requests within one month. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the support channel in your account.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access controls, and regular review — to protect your data. No internet service is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.

9. Cookies

Wildfolio uses essential cookies and local storage for authentication and to remember your itinerary, and limited analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can clear cookies any time through your browser settings.

10. Children

Wildfolio is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice.
